German Government announced a new amount for a blocked account that international students deposit in order to get a student visa. This new rule will be implemented from 1st January 2023.
According to this new rule, now international students are required to deposit 11,208 euros in a blocked account instead of 10,332 euros. This has also changed their monthly withdrawal limit from 861 euros to 934 euros.
So, in simple words, the new blocked account amount for Germany is 11,208 euros and the monthly withdrawal limit is 934 euros.
If you are planning to apply for a student visa in Germany then arrange money according to this new rule. German embassies have already implemented this rule from September for next year’s winter semester applications. So, if you already deposited money in a blocked account according to the old rule then contact your bank, send them an additional amount and get the statement according to the new rule.
