Canadian Universities receive thousands of international students everywhere. Each year, roughly 721,000 international students choose Canada for higher education. The study visa applications are accepted at large. The Visa Application process for international students begins after receiving admission offers from Canadian universities. Once this process is done, students can follow these steps to apply for a Canadian study visa.

Canada study visa process step by step:

Step 1: Prepare your documents

Before anything, students are required to collect and prepare all of their documents. The essential documents include an acceptance letter from a DLI (designated learning institution), medical examination certification, tuition fees payment statement, and English language proficiency test with a minimum of 6 scores. After preparing your documents, apply online or through paper.

Step 2: Get a GIC

A study permit to be accepted requires students to get a special guaranteed investment certificate (GIC). The statement can be collected from any participating banks, namely: SBI Canada Bank or ICICI Bank, etc. The amount ranges up to Ten thousand two hundred US Dollars ($10,200) CAD. It is required for the adjustment of the living expenses for the 1st year.

Step 3: Apply for the visa application.

This step can be done either online or on paper. If you want to do it online, then you would need to create an account and upload all the necessary documents online. You would need a credit card for any required fees–CAD 150. Submit your form after paying the application fees. You can track visa applications easily through the website.

If you choose to apply on paper, contact the nearest Canadian visa center for the application submission date and bring in all the required documents in a printed form.

The time taken for the visa application to process depends on various factors. Due to Covid19, the processing time may be slow; however, as mentioned before, you can check the status of your visa application through their online website. However, once you have followed all the steps above, you can quickly receive a study visa and fly to Canada to fulfill your dreams.
